Maeve hails from New York, and has been identified as Native American. She is a part of Blackfoot as well as Cherokee. The actress was in Liminality, a short film from 2005. The same year, she also was seen on the big screen for the first time on the critically acclaimed comedy-drama Transamerica . The first time she appeared on television was the same year as well in the season 4 episode of Law & Order Criminal Intent .
